Same Day Discounted Tickets for Seniors 65yrs+, Veterans and Students

LA Opera wants to make your visit as easy and affordable as possible. Unless our website shows that a performance is completely sold out, you’re welcome to queue up for Rush Tickets.

Senior Rush Tickets: 50% off current ticket prices for select seating sections for Seniors 65 years or older with a Valid I.D. Limit one ticket per ID.

Military Veterans: 50% off current ticket prices for select seating sections with a military ID.

Student Rush Tickets: $25 tickets for current full-time high school, college, and university students with a valid student ID. ID must include a current school year date sticker OR a student may present proof of current enrollment in the form of a full-time transcript via their student portal (yes, you can use your smartphone).

RUSH TICKET INFORMATION

Arrive starting two hours before the performance and look for the Box Office window labeled “Same Day Tickets.”

A valid ID is required, and purchases are limited to one ticket per qualifying ID
The Box Office will accept cash or credit cards for Rush tickets. Sorry, no checks or digital wallets
Rush Tickets will be sold beginning at 5:30pm for evening performances and 12pm for matinee performances
All parties must be present when buying tickets together
All Rush Tickets are sold at the discretion of the Box Office, which determines the performances, seating locations, and number of Rush Tickets offered

TIPS ON RUSH TICKETS

We want to make sure that getting low-cost Rush Tickets to see your favorite opera is as easy as pie. Just follow these simple tips:

Check our website to make sure the performance is not sold-out.

Come early. When a limited number of seats are released, you have a better chance of getting in if you come early.

Avoid matinees. The matinee subscription series is our most popular package and performances tend to sell out. It's rare for LA Opera to offer Rush Tickets for matinees, but you can always check in with our Box Office at 213.972.8001 to be sure—it might be your lucky day!

Plan ahead for blockbuster operas. Big-name classics like Turandot, Madame Butterfly, La Boheme, Carmen, Rigoletto, etc. are extremely popular, and sometimes there are no seats left for rush sales. We can’t guarantee that there will be any Rush Tickets for these "bucket list" operas, but your best bet is to try at one of the first few performances (don't wait until the final show) and come early for an evening performance (see above).
