Four decades ago, LA Opera was founded by a group of visionaries who believed Los Angeles deserved its own opera company. Our 40th Anniversary is a chance to celebrate those founders and everyone—subscribers, ticket buyers, patrons, artists, and artisans—who helped make us the world-class opera company we are today.

This is also a moment to secure the company’s future, ensuring LA Opera thrives for the next 40 years and beyond, as we launch the 40th Anniversary Campaign to raise the resources needed to bring outstanding work to both our mainstage and the community.
