LA Opera presents Nadine Sierra in recital
The celebrated soprano will perform on March 21 at Zipper Hall
(Los Angeles) February 23, 2026 — On March 21, 2026, LA Opera will present soprano Nadine Sierra in recital with pianist Bryan Wagorn at The Colburn School's intimate Zipper Hall.
The acclaimed soprano will make her Los Angeles recital debut in a showcase of beloved arias by Donizetti, Mozart and Puccini, alongside an enchanting second half of Spanish and Latin American songs, from Rodrigo and Villa-Lobos to the timeless melodies of "Bésame Mucho" and "Cielito Lindo."
About Nadine Sierra
Praised for her vocal beauty, seamless technique, and abundant musicality, Nadine Sierra is hailed as one of the most promising young talents in opera today. Having made a string of successful debuts at the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Paris Opera, and Staatsoper Berlin, she has become a fixture at many of the top houses around the world. Sierra signed an exclusive contract to record for Deutsche Grammophon and Decca Gold in 2017. Her debut album, There’s a Place for Us, was released in 2018, followed by a second album, Made for Opera, in 2022. She was named the Richard Tucker Award winner in 2017 and was awarded the 2018 Beverly Sills Artist Award by the Metropolitan Opera.
She began the 2025/26 season with a return to the Metropolitan Opera as Amina in La Sonnambula before embarking on a major Latin American recital tour, followed by a festive gala in Carnegie Hall. She began 2026 at the Vienna State Opera, singing the title role of Luisa Miller in a new production. Other engagements include recitals at Salle Gaveau, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Stanford Live, Palau de les Arts, Festival de Pâques (Aix), and Hungarian State Opera. Operatic performances continue with L’elisir d’amore and Rigoletto at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich as well as Roméo et Juliette at Madrid's Teatro Real and La Traviata at Chorégies d’Orange.
About Bryan Wagorn
Canadian pianist and vocal coach Bryan Wagorn regularly performs throughout North America, Europe and Asia as soloist, chamber musician and recital accompanist to the world's leading singers and instrumentalists. His recital with Nadine Sierra marks his second appearance with LA Opera, after his recital with tenor Benjamin Bliss earlier this season.
His major television and radio appearances include performances on Good Morning America, WQXR and CBC Radio. A participant at the Marlboro Music Festival and member of the music staff at the Glyndebourne Festival, he has also been a staff coach at the Ravinia Steans Music Institute and served on the faculty of the National Arts Centre Orchestra’s Summer Music Institute and Carnegie Hall's National Youth Orchestra. He has been a guest coach at the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann Young Artist Program and at the Glyndebourne Festival’s Jerwood Young Artist Program. He made his solo recital debut at New York's Carnegie Hall in 2009, and has performed chamber music with members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra and Chicago Symphony.
