If you are unable to attend an opera, please consider donating your tickets to LA Opera for resale (We will miss you).

To donate your tickets call 213.972.8001. You will receive a receipt for this donation. You may also mail or fax your ticket donation. Tickets must arrive one hour before curtain time on the day of the performance to be considered a donation. The value of your tickets will be acknowledged as a charitable contribution after the performance. (This amount will not be applied toward donor benefits.)

Help us out: When you donate your tickets as soon as possible, this will increase our chances of reselling them.

Change of plans? Looks like rain? Surprise visit from the in-laws? No problem.

Full Season Subscribers can exchange their tickets to any of our mainstage shows and pay no fees, or they may donate the value of their ticket back to LA Opera as a tax-deductible donation. Select 4/5, Design-Your-Own, ARIA, Family, and Newcomer package holders can exchange for a $5 fee. Non-package holders can also exchange their single tickets (for a $25 fee) or donate your seats back to LA Opera.

You may exchange your tickets up to 48 hours in advance of a performance online, in person, by phone, fax or email. Emergency exchanges made between 2-48 prior to a curtain can only be completed in person, or by phone. Additional fees, rules and/or restrictions may apply. All exchanges may be subject to a seating price increase.

Get the full story by joining other opera-goers at our complimentary pre-opera talks in the Grand Hall of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

Talks are scheduled one hour prior to every performance. (And you don’t need a reservation! Just show up!)

OK, so Psycho might be a bit intense for little Sofia, we get it, but we love having kids at the opera. We welcome children 9-17 years of age as we know they will love the music and spectacle of live opera. We want them to come so much that we offer half price tickets for this age group. We also have many other programs for families.

Since many operas contain adult subject matter, we suggest that parents check the webpage of the opera they are considering attending for any parental advisories as well as the opera synopsis. to make sure it is suitable for their child. (Still have questions? You can always call the box office at 213.972.8001)

Our mainstage operas are not suitable for children under 9 and you will not be allowed into the theater with a very young child. Although you can watch from the lobby, you will likely enjoy the performance better if you leave the little ones at home. We have many, many other ways for you to enjoy opera with your very young child. Click here to learn how.

We hate to be sticklers, but we cannot allow refunds on tickets. However, you may exchange or donate your tickets if you cannot attend a performance (see details above).

Artists, prices, schedule and programs are subject to change. (Life happens!)
