LA Opera's June 12 performance of Rigoletto will go on as planned
City officials have granted an exception to curfew restrictions to accommodate performing arts venues
(Los Angeles) June 12, 2025 — LA Opera announced that tonight's performance of Rigoletto will take place as planned, despite the ongoing curfew restrictions in downtown Los Angeles.
Local officials have granted an exception to curfew restrictions to accommodate attendees of downtown events and performing arts venues, including the Music Center. The performance, which begins at 7:30pm, will end at approximately 10:30pm. Attendees will need to leave the theater immediately afterward without lingering on the Music Center campus. All ticket holders should have their tickets with them while in the area, either printed or digital. If attendees need their tickets resent to them, they should contact the LA Opera box office at 213.972.8001. Attendees are advised to avoid driving through downtown from the south.
If ticketed audience members prefer not to attend this performance, they have several additional options, which are available by going to LAOpera.org/MyAccount. They can exchange tickets to one of the remaining performances of Rigoletto on June 15, 18 or 21; exchange their tickets for any performance in the 2025/26 season; or donate their tickets back to the company as a fully tax-deductible donation. Ticket holders can also contact the LA Opera box office at customerservice@laopera.org or 213.972.8001 to request a refund.
The curfew restrictions began on June 10. To date, LA Opera, the Music Center campus and the surrounding streets have not been directly impacted by protest or law enforcement activity beyond the curfew.
