Grammy Award-winning Mexican-American tenor Joshua Guerrero is celebrated internationally for his passionate interpretations of the lyric and dramatic repertoire. A recipient of a Richard Tucker Foundation Career Grant, second prize-winner in the Operalia Competition, and graduate of LA Opera’s Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program (where he received the Eva and Marc Stern Artist Award), Guerrero has become a sought-after presence on the world’s leading operatic stages. 

He has appeared in Don Carlo, La Bohème, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Macbeth, Carmen, Il Trittico, Manon Lescaut, Mefistofele, Florencia en el Amazonas, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Lucia di Lammermoor, Roméo et Juliette, Simon Boccanegra, and L’Elisir d’Amore at leading houses including the Vienna State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Dutch National Opera, Opéra National de Paris, Teatro Real in Madrid, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Oper Frankfurt, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Canadian Opera Company, Houston Grand Opera, Washington National Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Glyndebourne Festival, and LA Opera, where he was featured in the Grammy-winning recording of The Ghosts of Versailles. 

On the concert stage, Guerrero has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Orchestre National de Lille, Orquestra Gulbenkian, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and the Simón Bolivar Symphony Orchestra. His concert repertoire includes Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Haydn’s Creation, and Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, to name a few. 

Guerrero collaborates frequently with many of today’s foremost conductors, including Gustavo Dudamel, James Conlon, Lorenzo Viotti, Gianandrea Noseda, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Speranza Scappucci, Eun Sun Kim, Emmanuel Villaume, and Marin Alsop. 

A versatile artist, Guerrero’s work also includes appearances on film and television, including Disney/Pixar’s Academy Award-winning animated feature Coco.

A dynamic pianist of immense versatility, Peter Walsh has been hailed by Opera News for his “especially solid and prominent playing” and “warmly expressive” touch. A select member of LA Opera’s full-time music staff, Walsh works closely with Music Director James Conlon on mainstage productions as a pianist, coach and prompter, in addition to coaching the company’s Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artists. He has played for more than 50 productions at LA Opera, San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand Opera, San Diego Opera, Opera Omaha, Utah Opera, Central City Opera, and Wolf Trap Opera. His work has led to collaborations with conductors Roberto Abbado, James Conlon, Gustavo Dudamel, Jane Glover, Eun Sun Kim, Speranza Scappucci, Robert Spano and Patrick Summers.

Recent career highlights include a recital with Grammy-nominated baritone Rod Gilfry, the release of his debut album Songs of Dominick Argento with mezzo-soprano Abi Levis and Lexicon Classics, and performances as continuo harpsichordist for Handel’s Partenope at San Francisco Opera with Maestro Christopher Moulds.  A seasoned recitalist, Walsh has performed at Carnegie Hall, Ravinia, the Broad Stage, Sundays Live at LACMA and Vocal Arts DC.  As an orchestral keyboardist, Walsh has performed with the LA Opera Orchestra, San Francisco Opera Orchestra, Houston Grand Opera Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony, and San Diego Symphony. He has additionally performed with American Ballet Theatre, the Los Angeles Ballet and the Los Angeles Master Chorale at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Walsh has performed as a soloist with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and was awarded first prize in the MTAC State Solo Competition, first alternate in the regional division of the MTNA Young Artists’ National Competition, and was a finalist in the Loeb/Louviere International Competition. He holds bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in piano performance from the USC Thornton School of Music, where he studied with Lucinda Carver and Kevin Fitz-Gerald.
