Norayma Cabot

Norayma Cabot is a transformational nonprofit leader, educator, and community advocate with more than two decades of experience advancing educational equity, strengthening communities, and leading organizations through growth and change.

As Chief Executive Officer of A Place Called Home (APCH), Norayma provides strategic leadership for the South Los Angeles nonprofit, advancing its mission to inspire, encourage, and support young people in achieving social-emotional and economic success. Since assuming leadership in 2022, she has guided significant organizational transformation, strengthened financial sustainability, and cultivated strategic partnerships that expand opportunities for young people and families.

Prior to joining APCH, Norayma served as Executive Director of the Survivor Justice Center, guiding the organization through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic while strengthening its financial resilience and operational effectiveness. She previously held executive leadership roles with the Community Development Institute and Plaza de la Raza Child Development Services, where she led significant program expansion, established Los Angeles County’s largest center for infants and toddlers, and secured more than $6 million in funding to improve and expand early childhood education facilities.

A lifelong Angeleno, daughter of immigrants, and first-generation college graduate, Norayma’s leadership is grounded in the belief that talent and potential exist in every community, but opportunity is not equally accessible. She envisions a world where a young person’s zip code does not determine their future, and where every child has the opportunity to find happiness and success in life. She believes that access to education, the arts, and cultural experiences can open doors, inspire imagination, and expand what young people believe is possible for their futures. Her engagement with Los Angeles’s philanthropic and cultural community reflects her conviction that meaningful partnerships can bridge divides and create opportunities that might otherwise remain out of reach.

Norayma earned her Bachelor of Arts in Urban Learning and a Master of Arts in Education from California State University, Los Angeles, and a certificate in Strategic Partnerships in Nonprofit Management from Harvard Business School. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member at East Los Angeles College, where she remains committed to educating and mentoring the next generation of leaders.
