Ky Chassells
Ky Chassells (they/them) is very excited to join LA Opera as assistant director for the 2026 production of Falstaff, which will be their debut with the company. They are a stage director, stage manager, and intimacy director, who works passionately to shape new and reimagined narratives alike for audiences of both opera and theater.
Ky’s work has been seen at such companies as Cincinnati Opera, the Atlanta Opera, Detroit Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Minnesota Opera, and Opera Philadelphia. When in between productions, you can find them outdoors, visiting one of the many national parks around the country.
Ky is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas where they received their BS in theater with an emphasis in stage directing.
