The Community Opera is returning to the Cathedral in the spring of 2024, and we want you to join us.
LEER EN ESPAÑOL
Every spring, we open our stage doors and invite aspiring performers of all ages in the Los Angeles community—including singers, dancers and instrumentalists—to perform along with LA Opera professionals in a fully-staged opera. The community will come together under the baton of Music Director James Conlon for two free performances of Noah's Flood at the exquisite Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4, 2024.
Composer Benjamin Britten based Noah's Flood on a 15th-century play which recounts the Old Testament story of one family coming together (along with a boat full of animals) to brave a storm that would change the world forever. The opera features primarily youth performers and invites the audience to sing along during certain scenes.
