Does your community choir or student orchestra want to be a part of this epic production?

The Community Opera always includes hundreds of community singers and student orchestra members performing alongside professional musicians, brought together under the baton of Richard Seaver Music Director James Conlon. Pretty amazing, right? We can't wait for you to experience the beautiful music we'll create, together.

Community Choir

Open to churches, schools, or any non-professional singing group, the Community Choir features up to 300 participants who sing the chorus roles. They also are the backbone for the congregational hymns, inspiring the audience to sing with all the performers.

Student Orchestra

The student orchestra members are invited to play side-by-side with members of the LA Opera Orchestra. Open only to youth orchestras (high school and younger), this is a unique opportunity for students to experience being a part of a mainstage opera orchestra. Space at the Cathedral is limited, which necessarily means the number of players is limited.
