EXPERIENCE A WORLD PREMIERE OPERA – FOR FREE
Every year, LA Opera invites all passionate and aspiring performers to join us onstage in our Community Opera. In eight weeks of rehearsal, (nights and weekends) nearly 500 people come together and perform with LA Opera singers and orchestra members. And it all happens at the exquisite Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Downtown LA.
On Friday, March 22 and Saturday March 23, we bring you the world premiere of Moses, written by Henry Mollicone and Shishir Kurup, conducted by James Conlon, LA Opera’s Richard Seaver Music Director. The classic biblical story of Moses has it all: a quest for faith, brotherly feuds, true love, and of course, the parting of the Red Sea. Come witness an extraordinary collaboration; diverse communities coming together to give the gift of opera to Los Angeles through our Community Opera. And you can see it all for free.
