Introduction to Pierre Beaumarchais
For Elementary and Secondary Students
These Common Core-aligned worksheets will introduce students to an important historical figure in opera as well as the American and French revolutions, the playwright Pierre Beaumarchais. In addition to a textual analysis, secondary students review a discussion on Beaumarchais by LA Opera Richard Seaver Music Director James Conlon, and elementary students review the central importance of Beaumarchais and his writings in the American Revolution through LA Opera Connects' production of Figaro's American Adventure.
