As a native of Taiwan, Frances Liu-Wu served as principal bassist for the Taipei Symphony Orchestra. She later studied with Neil Courtney at the Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts. Since 1990, she has been a member of the LA Opera Orchestra. In addition to performing with many local ensembles, she can also be heard on recordings for motion pictures, television, and musical artists.
