Trouser Roles in Opera
For Elementary and Secondary Students
These Common Core-aligned lessons introduce students to the history of the trouser, or breeches, role in opera. Secondary students analyze articles describing the operas and roles, and elementary students learn the story of Orpheus and Eurydice and contextualize a clip from the opera within the setting of the myth.
