In 1997, Orjuela arrived at BMI, taking on the role of Regional Manager while spearheading the development of the company’s new Latin division in the West Coast. Over the span of 23 fruitful years, she moved up in the ranks and eventually achieved the distinguished position of Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations, continuing to lead BMI’s Latin Music department by developing and maintaining the company’s relationships with Latin songwriters, composers and publishers across the United States and the Americas and overseeing its influential showcases and panels. During her impressive run, she invaluably contributed to BMI’s incredible success, repeatedly demonstrating her exceptional ear for talent by signing some of the most prolific songwriters and composers of our time, including Juanes, Pitbull, Jenni Rivera, Horacio Palencia, Los Tigres del Norte, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, A.B. Quintanilla III, Pepe Aguilar, Espinoza Paz, Banda el Recodo, Alex Cuba, Ximena Sariñana, Larry Hernandez, Belinda, Chayanne, JBalvin, AAnuel, Gloria Trevi, Cafe Tacuba, Kinky, Molotov, and many others hereby shaping the Latin music landscape into the powerful force that it is today.
Orjuela is currently serving as Warner Music Latina General Manager Mexican Music as well as the president of the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame, where she continues to champion today’s most talented songwriters and composers. She is also committed to a number of impactful social causes, such as Mujer de Fé, an organization formed by singer-songwriter Paulina Aguirre that works to empower women; Los Producers, an annual charity concert initiated by Rebeleon Entertainment CEO Sebastian Krys in collaboration with BMI; and is an advocate for St. Jude.
