Superstar Ildebrando D'Arcangelo returns in Mozart's perfect opera
The dashing Italian bass Ildebrando D’Arcangelo returns as the doomed playboy, leading a dazzling ensemble of singers including Ana María Martínez, Janai Brugger, and Morris Robinson. This spectacular production cleverly reveals the characters’ inner thoughts and shifting emotions, adding a whole new dimension to an old favorite. James Conlon, beloved for his astonishing command of Mozart, conducts what many (including Wagner) consider to be the greatest of all operas.
In the heat of the moment, the notorious Don Giovanni (aka the legendary Don Juan) kills the father of one of his conquests, unwittingly unleashing an ominous force from beyond the grave that can’t be stopped. Accustomed to getting away with anything and everything, he must now face the consequences of his cruelty and debauchery.

“Ildebrando D’Arcangelo is a commanding presence... his mature, velvety tone suitably aristocratic with flashes of suavity and menace.”
