Famous Opera Characters: Cinderella

Character analysis is an important skill for students, and it requires that they make inferences from textual and contextual clues. In these Common Core aligned worksheets, students analyze the traits of characters to create descriptions of a selected character based on textual evidence.

ELEMENTARY LESSON


Elementary Lesson - Grades 4-6
This worksheet introduces students to describing Cinderella from Gioachino Rossini's Cinderella (La Cenerentola). Using the synopsis, students identify character traits, use compare and contrast skills, and write a description based on text. 

Secondary Lesson - Grades 9-12
This writing project incorporates reading the libretto of a selected opera for character analysis and will take more than one period to complete. Students will use direct quotes to support their character descriptions and analyses.
