Name: Gwyneth Hochhausler
College/University: University of Chicago
Major: Political Science and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations
Opera Activities: Gwyneth has volunteered at more Saturday Mornings at the Opera than she can shake a stick at. She has been a camp counselor (3 years) and participant in Opera Camp for the following productions: Figaro's America Adventure in 2007, Brundibár in 2008 & 2011, and The White Bird of Poston in 2012. She has also participated in the annual Community Opera at the Cathedral with Judas Maccabeus in 2008, Noah's Flood in 2009 & 2011 - premiering the role of Giraffe, and The Festival Play of Daniel in 2010 & 2012.
Opera Character: Gwyneth chose to recreate a scene from LA Opera’s 19/20 season production of La Bohéme because she loves and identifies with the bohemians in the opera - but the plaid of Schaunard's costume won her over.
Opera Future: Gwyneth hopes to serve on the Board of Directors for an opera company one day.
