Lumee’s Dream, an immersive, audio-visual installation inspired by Ellen Reid and Roxie Perkins' Pulitzer Prize winning opera p r i s m, takes over the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion (or the third tier, Hope Street side of the theatre) and plunges you into the center of the show's unsettling universe that premiered at REDCAT as part of our Off Grand series in 2018.
Ready for a bonus? The installation will be free and open to the public on February 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Reid and Perkins’ tragic character, Lumee, is summoned almost supernaturally through spatialized sound and evocative visuals. The loop runs for about 25 minutes (but you don’t have to stay for the whole time). Make sure to keep your ears open as you walk through the rest of the theatre, you just might hear echoes of p r i s m’s alluring melodies. Need a refresher on the show before stepping into its world?
