Want to see your favorite Bohemians take the stage (in our first new staging in 25 years), but don’t want to head downtown to do it? Well, you’re in luck!
On Saturday, September 28th, Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème will broadcast live directly from the stage at the Dorothy Chandler to Columbia Regional Park in Torrance and the Santa Monica Pier. This event is FREE and open to all. Keep reading to find out why Opera at the Beach and Opera in the Park is the perfect way to experience the music and romance of La Bohème.
A LARGER-THAN-LIFE EXPERIENCE
When we say big screen, we mean BIG. Our specially constructed LED screen is nearly 3 stories tall so every seat (or blanket) becomes the best seat in the house.
(Out giant LED screen getting built.)
A PERFECT VIEW OF THE MAGIC ONSTAGE – NO OPERA GLASSES NEEDED.
With 9 cameras recording the performance, you’ll experience every moment as if you were right there on stage. Our cameras zoom in, so you don’t miss a single tear, laugh, or joyous embrace. You’ll feel like you’re right there in Paris with our Bohemians.
(Every view is the perfect view during our simulcasts.)
WINE AND SKEE-BALL - THE PERFECT PRE-SHOW COMBINATION.
Head to Opera at the Beach and explore the world-famous Santa Monica Pier before the broadcast. Play at the arcade, take a ride on the carousel and enjoy the sea air. Don’t forget to visit our Wine Terrace, where you can sample a bohemian-inspired red or two before the show.
(The Santa Monica Pier simulcasts always draws a big crowd.)
SUMMER SOUNDS AND AN LA FEAST
Join us at Opera in the Park for the perfect summer picnic. Enjoy dinner from tasty food trucks while local performers take the stage. Opera at the Park is a perfect way to introduce the whole family to the opera.
