At the Grand Hall

OPERA FOR ALL AGES

Under the glittering chandeliers of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, children will enjoy an interactive opera written just for them. Express your creativity with fun pre-show activities before settling onto a bed of pillows for an unforgettable experience. Make lasting memories as you listen to beautiful music and learn more about opera from the singers themselves.

The Day of the Event

10:00AM - PRE-SHOW ACTIVITIES

Before the show, little ones get their wiggles out with a full hour of music, dance and art workshops. They will create special souvenirs to remember their first (or second, or third) time at the opera.

11:00AM - PERFORMANCE

With a spin of the “Opera Wheel,” our singers compete for a golden award by singing abridged versions of opera’s greatest hits. Along the way your family will be introduced to opera concepts like voice and character types, the conductor of an opera, the orchestra and more.
