Accepted participants will be middle school (7th/8th) or high school students. Priority will be given to students who have not participated in LA Opera 90012 in the past. Participants and their chaperone must be able to attend an orientation on Tuesday, September 24 at 6:30pm at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Applicants must also be able to attend all four operas:
- The Light in the Piazza (Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 7:30pm)
- The Magic Flute (Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 7:30pm)
- Roberto Devereux (Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 7:30pm)
- Pelléas et Mélisande (Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 7:30pm)
Accepted Ambassadors will be high school students (entering 10th grade of higher in the fall) who have already participated in LA Opera 90012 for at least one season. Ambassadors must submit an separate essay at the end of this application. If accepted, Ambassadors who meet or exceed their volunteer hour requirement for the 2019/20 season will be eligible to receive tickets to The Marriage of Figaro on June 2, 2020 at 7:30pm.
Applications are due by September 6, 2019, and notifications will be sent by September 14, 2019.
