Mezzo-soprano Melissa Treinkman is a frequent performer with LA Opera, where she made her solo debut as the Vendor in the 2013 production of Carmen and was a featured singer in the 2017 GRAMMY winning recording of The Ghosts of Versailles. She has been a member of the LA Opera Chorus since 2011 and also regularly performs with LA Opera Connects. Melissa recently portrayed the role of Dulcinea in the world premiere of Juan Colomer's opera Dulcinea XL with LA Grand Ensemble and was also a soloist in the world premiere of the dance opera, Beyond the Waterfront, produced by the Heidi Duckler Dance Theater and LA Opera. Her operatic career has taken her to Utah Opera, Sarasota Opera, Opera North, Cedar Rapids Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, and Chicago Folks Operetta. Melissa earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern California in 2019 and was awarded the Voice Foundation's 2020 Sataloff Award for Young Investigators.
