Original opera libretti with composer Lee Holdridge for LA Opera: Journey to Cordoba, The Prospector, The Magic Dream, Tanis in America, Concierto para Mendez and Dulce Rosa (based on a short story by Isabel Allende, world premiere May 2013 at the Broad Stage, conducted by Placido Domingo).
New translations/adaptations include LA Opera's 2006 and 2018 productions of Hansel and Gretel, as well as The Abduction from the Seraglio for the National Symphony Orchestra (Washington DC), conducted by Leonard Slatkin and directed by Doug Fitch. Other original libretti include Linda’s Wake and Of Mother and Daughter (with composer Drew Schnurr) and The Golden Land for the California Symphony (with composer Lee Holdridge).
