What: To mark the conclusion of Los Angeles County Arts & Health Week, LA Opera will host an all-day summit on June 9, spearheaded by superstar soprano Renée Fleming, a powerful advocate for the arts in healthcare.
Arts & Health Week, which explores the connections between arts, wellness and recovery, is a collaboration of LA Opera and the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, Healing Arts—an initiative of the Jameel Arts & Health Lab and the World Health Organization—and other organizations from across Los Angeles.
Who: Speakers at the Arts & Health Week Summit will include

- The Honorable Hilda L. Solis – Los Angeles County Supervisor, First District
- Dr. Maria Rosario Jackson – Chair, National Endowment for the Arts
- Kristin Sakoda – Director, LA County Department of Arts and Culture
- Christopher Bailey – Arts and Health Lead, World Health Organization
- Dr. Laura Trejo – Director, LA County Department of Aging and Disabilities
- Dr. Lisa Wong – Director, LA County Department of Mental Health
- Tehvon Fowler-Chapman, Vice President, LA Opera Connects

9:30am-10am: introductory remarks (Mr. Fowler-Chapman will introduce Supervisor Solis, followed by Ms. Fleming)
Panel discussions and experiential sessions will continue from 10:15am through 4pm. Highlights include "Music to Remember" with mezzo-soprano/educator Nani Sinha (1:30pm-2:10pm), a musical program designed for those living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease or other neurological conditions.
