Whoopi Goldberg and other LA Opera Ambassadors share a love letter to the arts

From Hollywood icons to community leaders, from influencers to executives, the inaugural members of the LA Opera Legacy Ambassador Program are united in one goal: guaranteeing access to the arts for everyone. In a new video, we hear directly from several of these Ambassadors about the importance of inclusion and belonging in this poignant love letter to the opera experience.

The participating Ambassadors include EGOT winner Whoopi Goldberg, entertainer Monét X Change, five-time world champion Lakers star Derek Fisher, actress Gloria Govan, actor Lance Gross, stylist Rebecca Jefferson, entrepreneur Karim Webb, NFL legend James Farrior and community leader Karen Mack, among many others.

LA Opera has long been committed to reflecting the rich cultural diversity and vitality of Los Angeles, both in our audiences and on our stage. LA Opera launched the Legacy Ambassador program in October, with the objective of forging deep, authentic and longstanding relationships with diverse communities and the key thought-leaders influencing them. These Ambassadors serve as a bridge between LA Opera and the communities they reach to cultivate dialogue and build exposure to opera and the arts.
