Soprano Nicole Fernandes graduated from UC Irvine, with subsequent studies at UCLA, private study in New York, a zarzuela workshop in Napa, and South Coast Repertory’s Summer Professional Acting Conservatory.

She has performed Frasquita in a touring production of Carmen with the Roswell Symphony Orchestra, Santa Maria Phil and the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra, and Adele in Die Fledermaus, Despina in Così fan tutte and Miss Silverpeal in The Impresario with regional companies throughout California. An advocate for introducing opera to children, she has sung Ashley in The Letter with LA Opera outreach programs and has also performed in outreach productions with Orange County Opera. In addition to performing as a member of the LA Opera Chorus, she has performed featured roles in the company's productions of Jenůfa, La Rondine and The Birds.
