In the summer of 2019, Benjamin Taylor covered the role of Zurga in The Pearl Fishers with Santa Fe Opera. He is a former Resident Artist with Pittsburgh Opera, where his roles last season included Schaunard in La Bohème, Yamadori in Madama Butterfly, and Older Thompson in Tom Cipullo’s Glory Denied. Last season’s appearances also included a debut with Madison Opera as Silvio in Pagliacci.

In the 2017/18 season, his roles in Pittsburgh included the leading role of Brian in Jeremy Howard Beck’s The Long Walk, and he also appeared as Sciarrone in Tosca and Captain Gardiner in Moby-Dick.

He previously was a Gerdine Young Artist with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, where he performed Fiorello in The Barber of Seville, Cowardly Giant in Jack Perla’s Shalimar the Clown, and Yamadori in Madama Butterfly.
