About Harvey Sachs
Harvey Sachs, writer and music historian, has published nine books, of which there are now nearly seventy editions in seventeen languages. His tenth book, TOSCANINI: MUSICIAN OF CONSCIENCE - a new biography that replaces his 1978 biography of the famed Italian conductor - was published by Liveright (New York and London) in June 2017, to great critical success.
Sachs is on the faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. He was the New York Philharmonic's Leonard Bernstein Scholar-in-Residence throughout the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, and he continues to give talks for the Philharmonic and many other organizations and to give private courses on opera and other musical subjects.
