Canadian mezzo-soprano Michelle Siemens, now in her second season as a member of LA Opera's Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program, made her LA Opera debut in Akhnaten by Philip Glass. She also joined UCLA Opera as Madame de la Haltière in Cendrillon and sang Ravel’s Chansons Madécasses as a guest artist with Colburn School’s Chamber Music Series.
In 2016, she sang as an Apprentice Artist with Sarasota Opera for the final season of their Verdi cycle. During 2015 she sang with the Greenwich Symphony, Fresh Squeezed Opera and Sherrill Milnes' Voice Experience. In the fall of 2014, she performed at Toronto’s Four Seasons Centre as a finalist in the Canadian Opera Company’s Gala Competition. Previous credits include the Third Lady in The Magic Flute, the Third Witch and Third Apparition in Ernest Bloch’s Macbeth, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro, Dido in Dido and Aeneas, the Infirmary Sister in Suor Angelica, Ocypete in Marc Blitzstein’s The Harpies, and concert appearances as a soloist in the Mozart Requiem, Pergolesi Stabat Mater and Verdi Requiem.
Over several seasons Michelle performed with Opera on the Avalon and the Halifax Summer Opera Festival, as well as traveling abroad to sing with the Yorkshire Opera Workshop and the Centre for Opera Studies in Italy.
