Originally from Colombia, Carolina Angulo earned her BFA in Industrial Design in Bogotá, where she also performed in musical theater. In 2002 she moved to Los Angeles, where she completed her MFA in Theater Design at CALARTS. Currently she is serving as Design Manager at LA Opera and has designed several shows for their education and community programs. Carolina has worked for several theaters including the Santa Fe Opera, the Getty Villa and REDCAT (Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater) as a props and puppet artisan, and as a scenic artist for theater, television and film. She is also artistic director of the L.A Grand Ensemble, a recently created collaboration in Los Angeles between musicians and a team of designers whose focus is to incorporate visual elements into the classical concert experience.
