Opera Camp

LA Opera offers an in-depth youth Opera Camp for ages 9-17. The camp runs for two weeks in the summer from 9am to 3pm. This unique program has a playful yet intense focus, offering individual attention and peer collaboration. In addition to rehearsals, campers participate in workshops such as movement, art-making, stage management, and costume design. The camp culminated in free, community performances. Registration fee is $600.

Opera Camp 2016 will take place on July 25 - August 7.
This summer's camp is full.

In July 2015, Academy Award-winning cinematographer and social activist, Haskell Wexler, discovered LA Opera's Opera Camp and produced a documentary about the program. Mr. Wexler passed away in December 2015 and gave us the gift of his beautiful work. Below is a sneak peek at the documentary, coming summer 2016. To read more about Mr. Wexler's work, click here.
