LA Opera's team of trained experts addresses civic and social organizations, philanthropic groups, schools and library audiences throughout Southern California, free of charge. You may select a presentation on any opera performed during our season at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, or we can customize a talk to suit your needs. Either way, you won't be disappointed!

SENIOR CENTER DRESS REHEARSAL
The heart of our senior programming remains the annual, free Senior Center Dress Rehearsal. Next season, we present The Abduction from the Seraglio by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Updated to the Roaring Twenties, this riotous staging marries the brilliance of Mozart's comic gem with the flair of a classic Hollywood comedy. En route from Istanbul to Paris, two beautiful damsels in distress are held captive aboard the luxurious Orient Express by a notorious Ottoman royal. It's up to their faithful lovers to rescue them before it's too late!
Dates and Requirements: The dress rehearsal of The Abduction from the Seraglio is scheduled for Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 2:00pm.
This event is open only to senior centers located in Los Angeles County which receive government funding. Seating is limited, and centers are selected to attend through a competitive application process.
Representatives from selected centers must attend a mandatory meeting on Thursday, November 17 at 10:30am. (Centers that attended Gianni Schicchi/Pagliacci during the 2015/16 season are not eligible.)
- Please note: Individuals may not apply.
- Fee: Free of charge.
- Deadline: Friday, September 23, 2016
- Application: For application information, please CLICK HERE to contact us via email or call 213.972.3157. A limited number of publicly-funded senior centers can participate in this program.
