Community Educators are a volunteer group of LA Opera, in collaboration with the Opera League of Los Angeles. LA Opera's team of trained experts addresses civic and social organizations, philanthropic groups, schools and library audiences throughout Southern California, free of charge. You may select a presentation on any opera performed during our season at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, or we can customize a talk to suit your needs. Either way, you won't be disappointed!
Dates and Requirements: Community Educators will address groups of 15 or more people. For more information, please CLICK HERE to contact us via email or call 213.972.3157.
Tickets: Free of charge.
Deadline: Requests for Community Educators are accepted throughout the year.
ADULT CONTINUING EDUCATION
LA Opera can provide speakers and scholars, behind-the-scenes visits from LA Opera staff members and even recital programs. We are currently partnering with several organizations, including The Huntington Library, to present adult education classes.
Classes may run during any time of the year. Fees vary according to partnerships.

SENIOR CENTER DRESS REHEARSAL
The heart of our senior programming remains the annual, free Senior Center Dress Rehearsal. Next season, we present Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's
The Marriage of Figaro. From the breathless opening notes of the overture to the touching final curtain, Mozart’s comic masterpiece brilliantly bucks the conventions of his time to deliver an ageless message of love and forgiveness.
Dates and Requirements: The dress rehearsal of The Marriage of Figaro is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 2:00pm.
This event is open only to senior centers located in Los Angeles County which receive government funding. Seating is limited, and centers are selected to attend through a competitive application process.
Representatives from selected centers must attend a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 1:30pm. (Centers that attended
Lucia di Lammermoor during the 2013/14 season are not eligible.)
- Please note: Individuals may not apply.
- Fee: Free of charge.
- Deadline: Monday, January 5, 2015
- Application: For application information, please CLICK HERE to contact us via email or call 213.972.3157. A limited number of publicly-funded senior centers can participate in this program.
