Opening Night Gala
On Saturday, September 13, 2014, LA Opera will celebrate the premiere of its 29th season with a spectacular Opening Night Gala event, benefiting the Company’s artistic and educational programs.
The cornerstone of the evening will be the season premiere of La Traviata, one of opera's greatest romances starring the incomparable Plácido Domingo as a father determined to do the right thing. In a return of Marta Domingo's dazzling Art Deco-inspired production, a naive young man falls head over heels for a glamorous party girl. Together they trade the fast life for an idyllic love nest far from the city...until an unexpected visitor threatens to tear them apart. La Traviata features the much-anticipated return of Nino Machaidze as Violetta, one of LA Opera's favorite leading ladies, and Arturo Chacón-Cruz as her handsome Alfredo.
The Opening Night Gala begins with a pre-performance champagne reception. Following the performance of La Traviata, guests will enjoy a dinner catered by Patina, and a lively after-party with an extravagant display of hors d’oeuvres, desserts, dancing and cocktails – all designed with an Art Deco flare.
Individual tickets begin at $2,500 and tables of ten begin at $25,000.
Formal invitations will be mailed in July. Should you have any questions or wish to receive an invitation, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
