Hailed by Opera News as a “particularly vivid” performer, soprano Rebecca Nathanson is a second-year LA Opera Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist. This season's engagements includeer her LA Opera debut as Crobyle in Thais alongside legend Plácido Domingo and covering Renee Fleming as Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire, as well as making her Opera Santa Barbara debut as Nannetta in Falstaff. Highlights of last season include the title role in the Aspen Music Festival's L’Incoronazione di Poppea under the baton of Jane Glover, a portrayal Opera News called "nothing short of orgasmic," and her international debut in La Bohème, conducted by Lorin Maazel, where the Times of Oman praised her “delightful, fiery, independent Musetta” and “layered and decadent” singing. Last season she joined the roster of the LA Phil for Le Nozze di Figaro and debuted at The Castleton Festival as Musetta and Frasquita in Carmen.
