Percussionist Ray Frisby came to Los Angeles in 1990 from Boston, where he graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music. He is currently very active both as a studio musician and as a live performer. Among his many feature film soundtrack credits are Batman and Robin, Volcano, City Slickers II and Alien 3. He has toured the US with the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Combined Shows, Japan with Ron Stein¹s Hollywood Superstars, and Europe and the UK as principle percussionist and soloist with The Los Angeles Symphonic Winds. Locally and regionally, he has performed with such artists and ensembles as LA Opera, the Long Beach Symphony, the Antelope Valley Master Chorale, the Musical Theatre Guild, Opera A La Carte, Mora’s Modern Rhythmists, Johnny Mathis and Rita Coolidge. He maintains a full roster of private drum and percussion students and has been staff percussionist with LA Opera’s Education and Community Engagement Department since 2001.
