Peter Kors loves opera and loves telling stories about opera. “Opera Cat,” and “Westward Ho Carlotta,” are among the stories he has performed with members of LA Opera. An actor, director and educator, Peter is a Master Drama Teaching Artist and Teaching Artist Lead Coach with the Los Angeles Music Center and the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Orange County. Peter co-founded an acting school, Dell’Arte International, in Northern California, teaches mask workshops at the Mask Arts Company in New York City, and leads Shakespeare and Commedia workshops at the Classical Theatre Lab in Los Angeles. He has performed on stage at, among others, the Mark Taper Forum (Tales of Hollywood, directed by Gordon Davidson), guest starred on television (The West Wing) and in film (Confidential Report). Peter played Toby in the opera The Medium and the Rooster in a staged production of Renard conducted by John Adams. He was featured as the Comic Mime, appearing on stage with Leontyne Price in Manon Lescaut at the San Francisco Opera, but his favorite gig still is, as a very young chorus singer, performing and recording with Duke Ellington and his Orchestra.
