Leslie Stevens

Leslie Stevens has enjoyed wearing a collection of hats as a performing artist, collaborator, administrator and playright/librettist with LA Opera. She has danced in 15 productions on the main stage since 2000, the most recent being The Birds in 2009. She is most proud of her opportunities to create new pieces including the Sing-Along Magic Flute, Friedl (the prelude to Brundibár) and The White Bird of Poston. Also a professional actor, Ms. Stevens has performed at the Laguna Playhouse, The Geffen Playhouse, Pasadena Playhouse, the Mark Taper  Forum, the Getty Villa and ICT (Long Beach) and the Hollywood Bowl. On Broadway, she originated the role of Anne in La Cage aux Folles and appeared in Victor/Victoria with Julie Andrews. She’s a proud alumna of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, the Shakespeare LAB at The Public Theatre and is currently on dance  faculty at AMDA LA.  www.lesliestevens.net
