Jamal Jaffer made his LA Opera debut in 2012 as the Solo Child in La Boheme. In August 2013, he performed in the Music Academy of the West production of The Magic Flute in Santa Barbara and is thrilled to be part of this LA Opera production. He has also performed as a soloist in Paul Mealor's Ubi Caritas with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and in Dutilleux's Shadows of Time with the LA Philharmonic, both at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. He is in his fifth year of singing with the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus. With the LACC he performed in Powaqqatsi at the Hollywood Bowl, and in Mahler’s Third and Eighth Symphonies at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Shrine Auditorium respectively, all with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, as well as in a concert with the American Youth Symphony at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Jamal is from Pasadena, is in the ninth grade at Polytechnic School, and enjoys playing electric bass, squash, water polo and basketball.
