Belgian/Bulgarian baritone Ivan Thirion studied at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and at the Geneva University of Music. He made his operatic debut with the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège as Papageno in The Magic Flute. From 2011 to 2013, he was a member of the Centre National d’Artistes Lyriques in Marseille. Recent engagements include Marcello in La Bohème and Lord Cecil in Maria Stuarda in Liège. This season, he will join the International Opera Studio at the Zurich Opera House, appearing there in La Fanciulla del West, Tristan und Isolde, Ariadne auf Naxos and Die Frau ohne Schatten.
