Drew Pickett had his solo debut as the Spirit of the Child in Jacaranda's production of Curlew River, a chamber opera presented as part of the Britten 100/LA concert series. He recently performed the role of the First Boy in the Music Academy of the West's production of The Magic Flute under the direction of Warren Jones at the Granada Theater. He has been a chorister in LA Opera productions of Carmen (2013), Tosca (2013) and La Boheme (2012) and also played an interactive storybook child in the LA Philharmonic's Mother Goose. As a member of the Los Angeles Children's Chorus' Concert Choir, under the direction of Anne Tomlinson, he has sung at numerous historical venues and most recently on tour through Canada's Maritime Provinces. With LACC he has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the direction of Gustav Dudamel at the Hollywood Bowl and at Walt Disney Concert Hall, with the Los Angeles Master Chorale most recently in Carmina Burana, the Pasadena Pops, and with the Angeles Chorale for the West Coast premiere of Paul McCartney's Ecce Cor Meum. His voice coach is Wendy Caldwell. Drew is from Pasadena. He enjoys the great outdoors as a Boy Scout, and is interested in engineering, geoscience and inventing. In addition to singing, he plays classical guitar and trumpet.
