A winner of the 2012 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, Russian countertenor Andrey Nemzer returned to the Met stage last season as the Guardian in Die Frau ohne Schatten, also covering the role of Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus. The season’s engagements also included Orff’s Carmina Burana with the Pittsburgh Symphony. Future engagements bring him to San Francisco Opera and Opera San Antonio. In the 2012 /13 season, he covered the title role of Giulio Cesare at the Metropolitan Opera, and performed Handel’s Messiah with the Rhode Island Philharmonic.
